Identifying WWI soldiers
Creating a genealogical memorial, and a genetic memorial, for the missing soldiers of World War One.
----
The following is from the Commemorating the Missing website.
The "Commemorating the Missing" Project was conceived largely by Project Leaders Maurice Gleeson and Michelle Leonard of ISOGG-UKI (International Society of Genetic Genealogy - UK & Ireland branches). Both are genetic genealogists and lecture widely on how DNA can be a very useful tool for augmenting your genealogical research. Michelle Leonard harvested the names of the 526,000+ soldiers from the various memorials, and Donna Rutherford created the searchable database.
