Jenny is a professional genealogical researcher, lecturer, teacher and writer based in Sydney, NSW. She has lectured at various societies, conferences and congresses. She is passionate about Irish and medieval English history, palaeography, immigration, DNA and historical photography.
Inspired by stories told to her by her beloved grandmother, Jenny has been researching her family history for the past 40 years. For the past twelve years she has been a professional researcher, lecturer, teacher and writer. She has spoken at various societies, and at the Australasian Federation of Family History Societies’ Congresses in 2015 and 2018. She has also spoken at RootsTech in Salt Lake City and taught genealogy and history courses at local community colleges in Sydney. Jenny has written articles for several magazines, including Going In-Depth Magazine and Family Tree. Jenny has served for many years on the committees of the Ku-ring-gai Historical Society and their family history group, including serving as the President of the Society for three years.
Jenny writes a blog (https://jennyalogy.blogspot.com) and produces an occasional podcast (http://jennyalogypodcast.blogspot.com). She was also the convenor of the 2019 Conference for the NSW & ACT Association of Family History Societies which took place in Wahroonga in Sydney. Jenny has been a RootsTech Ambassador since 2017 and has been delighted to have been able to attend many of their conferences. Together with core genealogy, Jenny has a deep interest in Irish and medieval English history, palaeography, immigration, DNA and historical photography.
